The Rev. Christine Conkin

Write: christine.stmartins@telus.net

Christine grew up in Calgary's NE and was both baptized and confirmed at St.George's parish. In her teens and early adulthood, she became involved in various church activities, particularly Teens Encounter Christ and other Diocesan youth work, General Synod 1998 and the national Partners in Mission committee from 1998-2001. In the rest of her life, she completed a BA in Sociology and Dance at the University of Calgary and then worked in various administrative capacities while also developing a career in dancing and dance teaching. Her passions for God and dance came together while working with Crossings Dance Ministries in Calgary and body/spirit/mind/soul connections, as expressed in movement, remain an important part of her ministry.

Following 4 years of study at the Vancouver School of Theology, Christine joined the St.Martin's clergy team in July, 2006 and became Priest-in-Charge for an interim time in September, 2008. She continues to pursue theological studies, particularly in biblical studies, as well as a variety of outdoor pursuits for recreational purposes.
